UNVEILING of STAINED GLASS WINDOW in VILLAGE HALL

The Unveiling of the Stained Glass Window

took place in Long Preston Village Hall on Saturday 28th April 2012

The window was designed and made by Jackie Hunt, a professional stained glass designer who lives in Long Preston, with involvement of the community at several stages.

Residents of the village and groups including the Women's Institute, the Over 70's, local Guides and Brownies and the Primary School, all contributed their thoughts as to the special features
of Long Preston village, its immediate surroundings and the things that make it special,
which Jackie incorporated into her design.

The window was commissioned by the The Long Preston Heritage Group, who paid for the materials.

The village would like to express their great appreciation to Jackie, who donated her extensive design
and manufacturing time to the project, and to Alec Faraday for installing the window at no charge.

The original design sketches for the new stained glass window for the Village Hall,

There are photographs of the two subsequent workshops on the windows
